Until recently (see above), an official soundtrack containing all of the Cat Stevens songs used in the movie Harold and Maude has never been released on CD (a limited edition vinyl album was briefly available in 2007 and 2021). Also, you can compile your own soundtrack of the songs performed by Cat Stevens used in the film from three Cat Stevens albums - Tea for the Tillerman, Mona Bone Jakon and Footsteps in the Dark (Greatest Hits, Vol. 2).
Two songs, "Don't Be Shy" and "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out," were written specifically for the movie and were not released in any form until 1984 on Footsteps in the Dark/Greatest Hits Volume 2. Both songs were later included on the Cat Stevens box set released in 2001 as well as the Cat Stevens Gold compilation from 2005.
